Mambo Nation

Mambo Nation began in October of 2015 in San Juan, Puerto Rico as a collaboration between two distant cousins who's love for latin music pushed them together to form an orchestra that would celebrate their culture, their heritage, and what they consider to be their birthright. Bronx-born bandleader/singer/trumpeter, Brandon Avila and musical director/singer Ricardo Diquez; a native of Humacao, Puerto Rico began the process of recruiting the finest "Salseros" they could find. The result was a musically gifted unit of musicians from Puerto Rico, New York, and South America - The members of the band included alumni of The Fania All-Stars, Celia Cruz, and Tito Rojas but also included talented "street musicians" with an unparalleled sense of rhythm and even a few self-proclaimed "Jibaros". Mambo Nation is one of the few authentic "orquestas" in the United States and is a high-energy memorable dance experience that is leading the way in the reemergence of Latin music.
