The Doug Largent Trio is based in Carrboro, NC, and features Doug Largent on organ, and a revolving cast of excellent guitarists, saxophonists, vocalists, and drummers. The Trio specializes in the music that provided the soundtrack for parties and nightclubs in the 1950′s and 60′s – Hammond organ with guitar and drums playing classic standards, Latin rhythms, blues, funk, swing and bebop.
Organist and Chapel Hill native Doug Largent graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and then spent ten years in New York City playing at jazz clubs like The Blue Note, Cafe Carlyle, and Smalls. In 2010 Doug returned to North Carolina to form The Doug Largent Trio.
Lately you can see him perform with guitarists Casey Overton, Kevin Van Sant, and Paul Bomar and drummers Zsolt David and Todd Proctor.
